The process of turning beef tallow into soap is called saponification. During this process, purified beef tallow is carefully mixed with lye (sodium hydroxide). The lye reacts with the natural fats in the tallow, transforming them into soap and glycerin. Once the reaction is complete, no lye remains in the finished bar—only nourishing tallow soap that gently cleanses the skin. The soap is then poured into molds and cured for several weeks to create a long-lasting, skin-friendly bar.
